The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the official notification for the CDS 2 2024 exam on 15th May 2024. Candidates who wish to join the Indian Armed Forces can apply online for the Combined Defence Services – CDS examination from 15th May 2024 – 4th June 2024. Note: Applicants who are in their final year/semester of a degree program and have yet to pass the final year degree examination are also eligible to apply. Such candidates should ensure that they do not have any present backlog up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of the application.

How to Apply Online for the CDS 2 2024 Exam

Interested candidates should read the CDS 2 2024 official notification thoroughly to check the required eligibility criteria. Following are the stepwise instructions to fill out the CDS 2 application form 2024.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the UPSC https://upsconline.nic.in/ 

Step 2: Click on “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”

Step 3: Now, select the CDS 2 2024 Exam and click on “Part I Registration” 

Step 4: You will need to complete the OTR process first, if not done earlier.

Step 5: Now, you will receive a registration ID through your registered mail.

Step 6: Complete both Part I and Part II of your online application form. 

Step 7: Make a payment of the exam fee, i.e., INR 200/- through any of the digital modes.

Step 8: Now, select the exam center as per your preference for the CDS written examination.

Step 9: Upload your photo, signature, and a valid ID proof within the size of 20 KB – 300 KB

Step 10: Now, click on “Agreeing to Declaration” and submit the online application form.

All candidates should take a printout of their online application forms for further reference. Further, all female / SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of the CDS application fee.
